Question about fishing braid at night for walleye

Larry,

Do you think it matters wether you use a leader (with braid) or not while throwing stick baits for walleyes at night?

The only reason I might use a short length of mono between the braid and the stick bait is to prevent possible tangles with the braid getting wrapped up in the hooks or split rings either while casting or netting a fish. Even in daylight it can be nightmare getting the gordian knot it creates figured out.
A few feet of mono usually prevents that problem.
I don't think it matters one whit to the walleyes.
