Low Water Pond

Postby JD » Tue Dec 19, 2006 11:05 am

Larry, I have a 5 acre pond that has a max depth of 16 feet. It is 17 years old and has lots of downed tree's and cover available. It is about 6 feet low due to last year's warm winter and lack of spring rain. It consistently produces 6 pound bass but I have not been able to find them in several months. I chucked a DT-4 last week and caught a 5 pounder in 30 degree weather! What gives?? It really has me stumped.

Thanks
JD

Interesting problem, and one I've seen before. Fish may be deeper in cover or just spooked for lack of it.
Start tossing in live stuff with no hooks in it until they reveal themselves.
best,
