Larry, I need advice on a new spinning rod purchase???

My annual smallmouth trip too lake Erie is rapidly approaching. I just love those smallies. Im searching for a new spinning rod for my stradic 2500. I fish tubes mostly in about 20-35 ft of water. Can you sugggest a rod model for me? I value your opinion and know you have done this type of fishing.

Hi J,
Rods are pretty subjective, but for my tastes I'd go with a Compre in 7' or 7 1/2' length in med or med light power with a fast or med fast action.
