Larry, do you use soft plastic baits?

I see in most episodes you use your sponsors Rapala lures. I imagine you also use various Musky lures too. Do you ever find an occasion to use soft plastic baits? If so which ones have you found productive for larger fish? Im targeting big Snook in freshwater that is filled with submerged and emergent weeds and using treble hooked lures is very difficult. Big soft jerkbaits and 6" Senko's have been only partially successful.

Hi H,
You bet I use them. In fact I've been making my own for years.
My favorite is one I call Mr Wiggley, and in fact, you'll see him in a peacock bass episode this season.
I use clay to make the original and build the mold out of RTV Silicone mold compound. I melt the plastisol in a $30 Walmart microwave. I was actually considering a short "sidebar" showing how to do it, but thought it might be too "heavy" for the average viewer.
In many cases soft plastics offer many advantages over hard baits.
They look more real both sitting still and moving and rigging options are limited only by your imagination!
(Try a banjo minnow rigged with a single hook through the "twist-lock")
best,
L
