Making Plastic Shad Lures

Postby jameshubscher » Thu May 07, 2009 2:56 pm

Good evening. Can you provide me information on how to make plastic shad lures? I understand they are produced by injection molding. If this is correct, any information or any direction to that information is appreciated. Also, any information on how to get started - manuals, classes, communication with others in the business - would be great. Anything else you beleive might be helpful is also appreciated.

Thank you.

HI J
In addition to the info in the previous post (thanks eric!), I should have a lure making dvd ready to ship by the middle of next week. It covers a variety of subjects including what you are asking about.

yup, or less depending on the size of the lure. Plus, remember they can be remelted and re poured after they get torn up.

When you purchase Alumisol by the gallon ... you have an approximate cost of 1 penny per gram of soft plastic. So if you weigh your bait after you've poured it and it weighs 125 grams ... your approximate cost is $1.25.
