Hi Larry,

I have been looking at purchasing some new reels for Musky Hunting. Can this reel handle the daily abuse? From throwing 3+ ounce baits to handling a 20-40 lb Musky? I like the small profile with the larger capacity spool.

In terms of drag and winching power what would it be comparable in the calcutta reels?

Mr Mooshkie proof?

Hi v,
I can assure you the 300dsv will handle your needs for muskies, and then some!
The closest to it is the 300 Calcutta TE, but the Curado has more cranking speed and power, plus at least as much drag.
I have a feeling, in time, it's going to replace the round reel for most "heavy" freshwater applications.
best,
L

Thanks Larry,

I was watching the Dorado fest you had in Venezuela and saw the size of baits you were using along with the new Curado. Un"bull"ievable Larry. I think I will be putting the Curado 300 DSV on my wish list. Hopefully my wife will agree!
