chunks of bait

Hello Mr Larry I have a question on what size hooks would you use for chunks of bunker, bunker heads, big surf clams and live baits such as carp, sunfish, bluegills etc... I have a few sizes of the Owner hooks super Mutu so what sizes do you recommend I purchase. I'm fishing with a 6'6'' trevala MH rod and a Stella Fa 20000 should I go with braid or mono. If so what pound test do you recommend. Thanks for sharing some of your knowledge I appreciate it.

I'd be using 8/0-12/0 for what you're describing. Might sew the hook on w/wire or floss depending on bait.
Depending on the circumstance, I might use from 50-130, either mono or braid. If deep and hard to feel or have to stop 'em on a dime, braid; heavy as necessary or as I can hold w/o getting pulled overboard.
If cut-off a pblm, I go to mono as heavy as 130, start with 50.
best,
