Larry,
How do you know what lure color best the water your fishing.

Hi eh,
The eternal question. I think most good anglers for most species would agree that in most cases, a good place to start is something of similar color to the water, whether it be flourescent, phosphorescent, pastel etc.
How ever, I think muskies are a little different. As the apex predator they are wired to select out things that don't belong. Hot colors are not only visible from a greater distance, but also sceam I don't belong here.
High attracting power. Some of 'em bite it. Especially flour chart.
That being said, every one knows more muskies have likely been caught on black than all the colors combined. (then again, it's what 90% fished with 90% of the time.) But there's little doubt for "not raising suspicion" black is on the top of the list and thus in some cases seems to have more triggering power.
Ultimately there is only one answer to your question, grasshopper, "Let the fish decide".
