Shimano Baysteel Multi Pliers

Larry have you used these new pliers? Ive searched the shimano site but can find nothing noting if they have a gripping plier at the tip. They are very attractive, having so many features. I catch so many juvenile tarpon when I bass fish. I tear them up trying to retrieve my baits, I'd like to have a plier with the quick leader cutting blade.

Hi H,
They have several models of pliers, some of which will do what you want. I'm embarressed to say I'm not sure which is which so you'll have to check them out at a shop.
In my experience juvie tarpon are one of the most fragile of all fish. I've seen them tear gill rakers loose just shaking their heads violently. I assume it's because the tissue has not yet ossified.
Glad to hear you're concerned with their welfare!
thanks for the post, wish I could've been more help!
best
L
