Another question, places you wish you could fish again?

Larry, another question that I hope interest you, and others.

You have fished a lot of places in the past, and over the years some have changed. Some due to politics, some due to environmental impacts; some have no doubt worsened, some have improved.

I remember watching one of your shows on Golden Dorado I believe, but I personally would not visit Argentina right now. You have fished so many different places like this, do you ever wish you could climb in your own personal time machine and go back and fish any of these places again. If so, what places, memories, do you think about the most?
I think my bucket list has a hole in the bottom!

Curious as to why you would avoid Argentina? Heading to Jurassic Lake in a few weeks and La Zona in January. Had not heard of any political or domestic issues?

I'd like to go back to the Nile river before the locals had so many nets targeting the big nile perch. the first visit there was quite incredible. Also wouldn't mind another visit to the Pasimoni in Venezuela. Would also like to have a couple weeks to chase taimen on my own terms without the handicap of having the guidance of fly specialists....
Personally, I really love argentina and would not hesitate to return for a visit. Would like to spend a few weeks above the dam at La Zona. La Zona is an amazing place, but a little too easy to keep my interests for more than a day or two. The reservoir above it is monstrous and untapped, but probably not so easy.
I sure am thankful for all the great memories, and miss my fishing pal Cesare more than I can say.
Been having a great time staying around home and spending lots of time on the water I grew up on. It's even better when I've got my grandson along!
thanks for the post!
best

Would like to return to the Mnyera River in Tanzania for big tigerfish, the Coppername River in Suriname for lau lau, the Rio Unini for peacock bass, and the LakeKamu River in Papua New Guinea for PNG bass and barras. Two places I wish I could have fished are Chantley Inlet in the N.W.T. and the Congo for goliath tigers.

Perhaps just misinformation, perhaps not.

I was offered a very lucrative job there by a close friend a few years ago. They pay was incredible, but when he told me not to worry, I would have a full time body guard for myself and wife at all times, it got me a little spooked. I would have been working for a firm contracted to the Government.

Now if it was just me, I doubt it would have bothered me as much, but if I needed a full time body guard then what was up. Not a condition I would take my wife to.

I suspect that I am overreacting, and if you keept a low profile all would be great.

"miss my fishing pal Cesare more than I can say"

Larry, I think we all feel your pain on that one. Those of us who saw the shows with Cesare also miss the great times you two shared.
