What do you recommend using for a popper mold and which foam for the Dody. I'm thinking this would be a more practical approach to producing crease fly bodies as opposed to the traditional sheet foam method. Needles to say, lightness, floatability and durability is of utmost importance.
Thanks.

hey side,
For durability alumifoam is hands down best. Depending on how much the mold compresses it, it not far from painted cork in weight and floatation. I also use Flexfoam, although it absorbs a little water also works and floats well plus is flexible and soft. It's also pretty tough, and super, super light. almost like deer hair It's best to wrap your hooks with a chenille before molding.
I use plat 50 because it's very firm and does not bulge at all with the foams.
plex for a top, sprayed with mold release.
hope this helps, good luck with the project, let us know if you need more help (dont hesitate to call alumilite directly) and I'd love to see what you come up with when you're done.
best
L
