Fly rod poppers

Larry, I just caught the tail end of your show for wolf fish and was wondering which material you recommend for making the mold and and which foam to use for making fly rod poppers ? I thought it would be a great idea to cast crease fly bodies instead of fabricating them out of sheet foam and gluing them on the hooks. Lightness, floatability and durability would be obvious requirements.
Thanks.

I use both alumifoam and flex foam. best to wrap hook body with chinelle before casting. use vac 50 if mold does not need to flex in order to remove part. use hi strength 2 otherwise. expansion depends on stiffness of mold, wall thickness, size of vent hole.
alumifoam is close to painted cork for floatation and super strong. alumifoam is lighter, in fact super light and absorbs a little water but still floats and pops fine. I've used it for all fly sizes in popper and diver heads.
best
