Bimini questions

Larry,

I was watching your video on how to work the wide glide the other day and seen that you use a bimini twist before attaching your main line to your leader. Do you always use a bimini before tying on your leader? Or is it because your using braid so you double the line up to better match the diameter of the leader material? or do you only do the bimini for the wide glides? I mainly fish for pike and every so often muskies but was just wondering the reason behind tying a bimini before the leader. Also do you think that the double uni knot works as well as the nail knot for line to line conncetions?

Thanks, J

bimini is just an old habit. can't go wrong with a doubled line. uni and double nail are very similar, double nail is a little stronger.

I use a spider hitch. It's easy to tie and works quite well in the same situations that a bimini would. Not quite as strong, but still very, very serviceable.
