Is it possible to make a whopper popper fly Larry?

I'm afraid a fly with a rotating tail would be a bit troublesome to cast with a fly outfit, not to mention issues with leader twist! However, the right popping bug manipulated in the right way can speak a fairly similar language.
The challenge in transposing a lure design to something that's practical to cast with fly gear is in overcoming weight and in some cases wind resistance. And the key of course is "practical to cast"!
