I am going to fish Midnight Sun in Alaska for big pike and they require single barbless hooks. Hook size rx and rigging mr wiggley with the single hook????? Can't wait to try the bait----going the end of August 2015. Please advise how to accomplish this goal. Thanks Larry---love the show

Use a good sized siwash that weighs close to 5 grams. maybe have to wrap a little solder on the shank for weight.
There's some really big pike up there if you can sniff them out!

Took my Whigglies out last week rigged with large single siwash as suggested. Worked very slow they had proper action. Tried to speed up retrieve with and without lead wrapped on hook and Whigglies popped up on their side. All suggestions appreciated.

My thought would be more weight as low as you can get it.

Has anyone tried just using a dremel and cutting of two of the hooks of the treble to attain a single hook set up??? too much weight loss??

I think the answer is more weight up front and forget about the minor weight increase you can get with solder or weight on the hook. Larry got a big musky on his last show with a large egg sinker rigged Carolina style. I do not remember seeing this on his Peacock shows and yet the Whiggly ran very straight when retrieved at a very fast pace. My Whigglies(I tried several)will not run like that. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong again. My advice is to work this out before you get to your destination.

Nope, just add a little weight to the hook. I was using an egg sinker 'cause it was 20 feet deep. As far as the midnight sun single hook question: Pick up a few 6/0 trebles and just cut two of the hooks off.
