Hi friends,
Do any of you know, or have any of you used Alumilite products to create other fishing related items?

I'm curious if it would/could be used in place of a ceramic product? In particular, I had an inner ceramic tip top get stepped on and crack, and now the 50 lb braid cuts like butter when any lure over 1.5 oz is tied on. I could buy a replacement tip-top for $30 from the company, but...I'm a deadly combination of cheap and poor.

Has anyone tried making any rod components? What is the ideal product to use for this application?

Thanks in advance!
-Brian

hi brian
sorry to say you are out of luck on the homemade ceramic replacement. Tungsten carbide or chrome plated brass are other more primitive options but still beyond the scope of a home workshop. Suggest searching for a broken or garage sale rod can be robbed of a guide.
I like the way you're thinking!
