I fish a lot on very shallow streams, I'm not so worried about weeds as logs and rocks. The treble in the belly concerns me, have you had any success with alternate rigging?
Open water is just a far off dream for me right now. Day dreaming is all that's getting me by!

If you want weedless, just use a single hook buried in the lure body, like a Texas rigged worm.
