Rod Type

Postby Roy Pride » Tue Feb 27, 2007 1:23 pm

I have watched your programs for the last couple of years and posted
a couple of times as I have fished for Peacock bass in South America
and really enjoyed your diversifed shows.
My question is, What type rods are you using on your latest shows of
Peacock bass and Catfish ? You were using the new CL200DC Baitcaster
on one show and I think back to your 400 Shimano on the other.
Those Rods looked as tho they would be perfect for my Tarpon fishing
here in the rivers emptying into the Indian River. I Am using 80 Lb test
Sufix Braid and 80 flourocarbon leader.

Hi Roy,
Glad you enjoy the shows. You're right, the rods I use most of the time do a great job on lures/bait for multi-species bigger game. They're very strong, and offer enough options to really tune in the right length/action/power for your specific needs.

I've been using both the teramar inshore series and the compre musky rods. Usually from 7-7 1/2' long in med heavy-heavy.
There are lots of choices, including different different butt lengths so I'd suggest finding a dealer with a good inventory so you can check them out first hand, and find the one that's as close to perfect for what you need!
best,
L
