Choosing a reel

Postby cuzzinfish » Tue Feb 25, 2014 6:23 am

Hey Larry, I have two questions. I'm looking into a new reel for musky and a couple have caught my eye. Reel A, let's call it, is rated for 180yds of braid at 55#. Reel B is a saltwater reel rated braid capacity at 80/200. Both offer 32"+ of retrieve and 20 lbs of drag or more. However, reel A is half the weight of Reel B and low profile. Would you give more consideration to comfort or line capacity? And how much line capacity is too little?

Thanks
Robert

line capacity for musky is not really an issue. I would opt for reel A.
For the money, the Okuma komodo is worth a look.

Thanks for the quick reply. If you don't mind a quick follow up. Ever used Tica rods? Thoughts on the quality?
