Alumisol, dyes

Postby pat28 » Mon Feb 24, 2014 9:20 am

Hi everybody,
I want to get into soft plastics and would like to know two things:

1- Does Alumilite make dyes to go with its Alumisol?
2- Are general dyes sold everywhere on the market (lurecraft, for example) compatible with alumisol?

Thanks for your time and help!

Sincerely,

Patrick

Thanks for the extremely diligent response Mr. Dahlberg. Are the Alumilite dyes called just that? What I mean to say is that the Alumilite Dye product description says it can color resins but there is no mention of its compatibility with Alumisol.

Once again, thanks for your help!

Sincerely,

Patrick

They are all universally compatible. You can also use alumidust both in the mixture and on the outside surface of the mold to affect the color.
The variations are literally endless. As you may have noted in the various tutorials, you can also regulate buoyancy with either microballoons to increase floatation, or tungsten to make it sink.
