Plastic/Tungsten Jigheads

We have a lead ban here in MA and we can't use lead jigheads that weigh less than an ounce. I was wondering if anyone made a jighead that was plastic with tungsten powder mixed in for weight? I currently have a mold setting up to make some 3/8 oz and 1/2 oz jig heads, but was wondering if my efforts are going to waste?

Any success stories out there?

Yes it can be done. The tungsten will settle to the bottom of the mix, so it takes some extra effort to get it balanced.

Hi all,
I do it all the time. It's why we carry the tungsten powder on the website! Actually, there is very little settling if you stir it well.

Mike once mentioned how to pour the Alumilite White so that the Tungsten would settle to the bottom. He said to stir it for no longer then 30 seconds and pour. I think he meant to say stir and pour in less then 30 seconds, perhaps 20 seconds. LOL

Mix and stir for a minute and very little, if any, tungsten will separate out.
