Larry for me, this show was the best thus far. Its very interesting to see the other aspects of your trip and the sniglets of the riverside camps. I noticed you werent using a Curado 300 on this episode and was curious as to why. Also the last couple of shows your voice sounds rough, I hope you are well. Henry

I was traveling light and needed a reel that would do double duty on both wolfies and catfish if necessary.
Thanks for the concern about my voice, I had a lingering sore throat that's much better now!

Larry I am thinking of going back to Suriname either later this year
or possibably early next year. Is that camp ready for regular
operation or is it someone Cesar knew?

yeah they looked like killer fun. were those wolffish regular size, or big for the species?

also, im wondering if larry ever got up to that pool below the waterfalls he was wanting to try. that looked like an awesome place, and im thinking he could have really hammered some big fish there.

On one day we averaged close to 15lbs. My biggest for the trip was
just over 20lbs. We had a great trip. The camp is good, food, boatman,
and guide Jerry is a funny guy. This is probably the best place to go
in South America for them, not to mention the country is very stable.
There is also a chance of hooking very big catfish. As far as trips go
it's a great bang for the buck.

Depending on the amount of prior fishing pressure, the wolfish could average from the low teens to the high teens and low twenty pound range.
I'm not sure of the waterfall you refer to, but if it's Wonotobo, yes, we got there and ran into a huge catfish!

The "big cat below wonotobo" show ran last season. You can see the fish on youtube if you search for king kong catfish.
There's another cat of the same species in the show that will air next week, it's about a 200 pounder.
