hey Larry i'm curious how often do you go out and flip/pitch for bass in heavy cover and what reel and pound test line that you use to do it.

Interesting question.
Not much these days, but I used to do tons and tons of largemouth fishing in heavy slop, pads, wildrice, etc. Favorite setup is a homebuild flippin stick that handles lures from 3/8 to 2+ oz , and either a DC200 calais or curado 300 loaded with 65# powerpro. Might use a clear leader, might not. If so, minimum of 30# up to 60 or even 130 for toothy fish, and joined with either double uni or PT knot.
I use the same rig tossing frogs a mile, fishing pcocks, pike, and midsized musky lures.
