Opening night of walleye season I noticed 3 or 4 dif guys guys looking in the water at bait fish. There were millions of fish right on the surface. They all had nets but not one of them dipped any.I asked what they were looking for and they all said sand pike minnows.Does anyone on here know about these bait fish?I guess they are deadly for walleye.Thanks.

That's a new one for me. My guess is that it's a fairly common minnow traveling under an assumed local name!
