Father / Son - Fishing Trip

My Dad & I love your show! Quick Q: i would like to get an annual fishing trip started with one my buddies & both our Dads. I am from Wi, he is from St. louis...

Any recommendations on a great Memorial Day father/son fishing location?

-Louisana Delta?
-Florida Inland lake?


we are used to fishing freshwater, but could be interested in saltwater as well - we love to figure it out, so only a guide for 1 day.

That's a good question. The delta is certainly a great spot and certainly worth considering. You could rent one of the places right on the water in Venice. There are so many options there, and it's so large you would never get bored or crowded.
the inland lakes are worth experiencing, but you may find them less than satisfying.
Fishing the area around Marathon or Big Pine for tarpon is a blast. Plus, it's one of the areas where there are lots of places to poke around on your own without getting into really big open water.
Might be worth checking them out before deciding on where to focus.
