A buddy of mine just gave me a Shimano Speedmaster 201. He says it's the Japanese version of the Curado 301...which hasn't come out yet in the U.S.
Is his information accurate?

I've also heard that a domestic Curado 301 is due to come out this July or August...have you heard anything that would confirm that?

What's up with that? Why do they make me...us wait for the 301? There is already a market for it.

Don't have the answer to that one, but I'd bet you'll see a lefty soon. There are some number of shimano models offered in Japan that are not offered here. Although they may look sexier and be a little lighter, for the most part, they're not built as ruggedly as their American counterparts.
